Welcome!

The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash. -- Matthew 7:25-27

When I first started this blog, my goal was to share my experiences simply as a single mom in the military.  And I had this goal of re-examining myself from the inside out, discovering who I am and who I want to be.  I made little tasks for myself to try to experience life through appreciation and learning, build myself as a castle of stone instead of sand.  In the midst of all that, I realized I can't do it without God.  The majority of my life had a little bit of God in it.  The later part of my life, God showed Himself to me in such powerful ways that I couldn't deny Him!  And from then, I have been learning and following and stumbling and letting Him pick me back up to try again.  And as I sit here and type this, I realize that the one truly successful way for me to discover who I am is to build and strengthen my relationship with God!  After all, He made me - He knows me better than anyone in this world does, including me.  And "Who I want to be?"  That goal has changed to "Who God wants me to be!"  Only then can I truly find God's purpose in my life.  And only then can I truly be the mother He wants me to be for my children.

So, although this blog is about being a single mom in the military, it is driven by my growth and experiences in my relationship with God.  You'll find blog posts here where I vent and I curse and I'm judgmental, stubborn, angry or resentful.  And I won't allow myself to delete those because then it'll be as if I'm pretending I never wrote them.  I am human.  I will make mistakes.  I will stumble on my journey with Christ.  I pray that my posts will reflect ALL of my learning experiences.  It is a real life person's adventure and not a blog that only shows the "good" side of my personality.   I hope that you will remember that and keep me in your prayers.

Enjoy the reading.  God Bless!
